اهمیت نفت در دنیای صنعتی و جنگ

 کلمانسو رجل سیاسی معروف فرانسه صریحا گفته است:

 ارزش یک قطره نفت مساوی با ارزش یک قطره خون است. 

 همین نفت بود که در جنگ بین المللی اول و دوم موجب پیروزی متفقین گردید وشکست معروف آلمان در جنگ "وردن" فقط در اثر براه انداختن سی هزار کامیون و اتومبیل متفقین بود که ارتباط ارتش را با جبهه برقرار ساخت و قشون آنانرا درهم شکست.

 در 15 دسامبر 1918 کلمانسو رئیس الوزرای فرانسه به ویلسن رئیس جمهوری امریکا نوشت:

 « اگر متفقین نمیخواهند در جنگ شکست بخورند فرانسه جنگجو در موقع باریک حملات آلمان می بایست نفت که از خون افراد در جنگ فردا لازم تر است دارا باشد».  

 لرد کرزن سیاستمدار مشهور مکرر اظهار کرد:

 متفقین به پیروزی نائل نگردیدند مگر بواسطه وجود نفت.

 پرزیدنت کویج میگفت: جنگ بدون نفت جنگی است باطل و شکست آن حتمی است.

 هانری بوانژه در یادداشتی که در 12 دسامبر 1919 قبل از تشکیل کنفرانس صلح بکلمانسو رئیس الوزرای فرانسه نوشت متذکر شد:

 مملکتی که نفت دارد امپراطوری را دارا خواهد بود. امپراطوری دریاها بوسیله مواد سنگین نفت. امپراطوری آسمانها بوسیله مواد سبک نفتی ـ امپراطوری خشکیها بواسطه بنزین و نفت ـ امپراطوری دنیا بوسیله قدرت مالی که بستگی بماده حیاتی دارد که قیمتی تر و احاطه کننده تر و مسلط کننده تر از خود طلا در روی زمین میباشد.»

 چرچیل در مجلس عوام انگلستان در موضوع اهمیت نفت ایران برای انگلستان گفت:

 از مدتی پیش دولت انگلستان برای کسب منافع نفتی ایران از لحاظ حفظ اداره هندوستان و عظمت امپراطوری انگلیس فعالیتهای سیاسی نموده و مخصوصا مراقبت شد که کمپانیهای خارجی سهام شرکت نفت را خریداری ننمایند.»
